TATA MANAGEMENT TRAINING CENTRE

The Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC) began operations on January 6, 1966, inaugurated by Mr. JRD Tata. Its mandate was to serve as an educational institution that would contribute to the economic development of India through management education. Since then, it has become one of the leading management training centres in the country. Associated with renowned national and international institutions, TMTC is now the learning arm of the Tata Group's Human Resources function.

Over the last few years, the Tata Group has established a visible global footprint.  Major expansion initiatives including large scale acquisitions and increase in the size of the talent pool has given a fillip to its versatility. To help Group companies develop their managers and leaders across the globe, TMTC has begun several new e-learning initiatives.


Self-Paced e-learning program - TMTC and Harvard Mentor Program

Live Virtual Classroom - This platform is used for a Tata GeMS program. This program is for front line managers with 2 to 3 years of experience in the Tata Group

Live Video Over the Internet - This platform is used to conduct training where large number of participants is geographically dispersed. Many of the Tata Group companies are making use of this platform for sales force training, finance training, product demonstrations etc.

It is clear that Group companies need to harness human capability in order to tackle anticipated challenges. This requires continuous development of managerial and leadership capability. TMTC’s role has become a value proposition in this context. TMTC believes learning and development must be strongly aligned with strategic objectives and business goals of the organization. Learning must provide return on investment to the organization. TMTC has re-invigorated itself to deliver this message.
